What are Cookies?

Types of cookies

Type 1: Depending on who manages them

Depending on who is the entity that manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, two types can be distinguished: own cookies and third-party cookies.

Type 2: Depending on the time they are active

There is also a second classification according to the length of time they remain stored in the client's browser, which may be session cookies or persistent cookies.

Type 3: Depending on its purpose

What types of Cookies do we use?

The cookies that are being used in AORA are identified below, as well as their type and function:

1) AORA uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service developed by Google, which allows the measurement and analysis of navigation on web pages. Stores the traffic source or the campaign that explains how the user has arrived at the site.

Through web analytics, information about your personal data is not obtained, guaranteeing the protection of the privacy of people who browse the web. The information obtained is related to the number of users who access the website, the number of pages viewed, the frequency and repetition of visits, its duration, the browser used, the operator that provides the service, the language, the terminal you use, or the city to which your IP address is assigned. Information that enables a better and more appropriate service by this portal. This information is automatically stored on Google's servers to which we do not have access except for reports of that generated traffic.

2) Google also uses other cookies such as PREF, NID or SID (duration: 2 years, 9 months and 9 months respectively), to be able to personalize the ads displayed on Google services such as, for example, Google Search. 4) Google also uses the DoubleClick cookie in ads published on its partners' websites, such as websites that display AdSense ads or participate in Google's certified advertising networks. When a user accesses a partner's website and sees or clicks on an ad, a cookie may be placed in their browser (duration: 30 days).

5) Another of the cookies that are downloaded is a technical cookie called 32 random characters (duration: session) necessary for the correct navigation of the web pages of this portal. It is totally necessary and inherent to the platform since, among one of its many functions, it allows the user to add items to the cart.

6) The cookielaw_module cookie is for the purpose of saving information about whether or not the cookie warning message should be displayed. It lasts for 1 year.

7) Another cookie is the one called __zlcmid (duration: 1 year) used for the operation of the Zopim chat. Another cookie used is the __atuvc (duration: 2 years) managed by Addthis. It allows the user to see the updated count if a page is shared or share information from the web on social networks, among others. 8) Finally, if you log in through Facebook or Twitter, these same platforms create a series of technical and analytical cookies. Among its functions, allow to know the information of the user who has logged in through these platforms. On either of the two platforms, you must accept the access policy and conditions offered by these platforms the first time you connect.
